I’ve recently added my 17th file to Graphic River. It’s a text effect pack released specifically for Valentine’s Day and includes 15 high quality love and romance styles.

There are also 7 bonus font styles to mark each of the major key wedding anniversaries (Gold, Silver, Diamond etc).

All layers in the photoshop file are organised into folders, named and fully editable. All free fonts or standard installation fonts used, links to download in included in the file.

Things to note…

These styles are best used at 72dpi using bold typefaces at 70pt or higher.

Made in Photoshop CS4 but saved in ‘Maximize Compatibility’ mode for anyone with an older version.

Freebie – Premium Brushed Metal Buttons

Everyone loves free stuff! My intention is to occasionally give away some nice web design freebies, cool resources, Photoshop files, icons and plenty more.

For my first freebie, I’m giving away a cool little Brushed Metal button in 3 states. It can then be easily saved out and used with CSS sprites to make a nice download button.

Slow and Steady Wins the Race

After 3 years of fiddling, trying multiple designs, various different platforms and more logos than I can bear to remember – I’ve finally finished my portfolio site!

So what’s the reason for finally pushing myself to complete one idea rather than starting several others? Well, 2011 is the year that I go into the big scary world as a freelance web designer – and I’m not sure how many clients I would attract with a holding page saying ‘New Site Coming Soon’.

Whilst the site is now live, it is still a work in progress. My plans are to have a much more in depth portfolio section, featuring more work and mini case studies showing how companies have benefitted from my work.

I also plan to eventually have somewhere to showcase all my stock graphic and site template work over on the Envato marketplaces. When I inevitably end up ‘in between clients’, the income generated from these stock files may well be the difference between me sleeping at night or not…!

So, what do you think? Any feedback is good feedback right? …Right?
